What is an Agile Learning Community? |
A self-directed learning community for homeschoolers that is based on the ALC educational model. ALC's use a tree metaphor to help better understand the tools and practices that create this model. Below is a short summary of the Soil and Roots of this tree-the foundation for Agile Learning. Our ALC begins at age 7 and goes to high school.

- Learning: Learning is natural. It’s happening all the time.
- Self-Direction: People learn best by making their own decisions. Children are people.
- Experience: People learn more from their culture and environment than from the content they are taught. The medium is the message.
- Success: Accomplishment is achieved through cycles of intention, creation, reflection and sharing.
